But, if you use the right plug, there is no way its any less safe. a spike goes in from the inside, and have like a 2 inch diameter patch around the puncture glued inside the tire. looks like a big valve if you know what I mean. The typical way that a tire is fixed, and it’s completely improper, is to take a plug and just jam it through the tread of the tire and that’s the end of it. If it doesn’t leak, everything is fine.
